De eerste dag staat in het teken van excursies naar bijzondere intiatieven voor LGBTIQ+ senioren in Amsterdam. Information and Inspiration for more Inclusion
On 25 and 26 April 2019 the Rainbow Cities Network, the City of Amsterdam and Pink50+ (Roze50+), in collaboration with IHLIA LGBT Heritage, will host the European conference Focus on LGBTIQ+ Seniors: Information and Inspiration for more Inclusion in Amsterdam.

This two day conference Focus on LGBTIQ+ Seniors is all about exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of LGBTIQ+ Seniors Europe-wide.
The main topic is the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ seniors, with respect to:
- inclusive services for LGBTIQ+ seniors;
- (prevention of) loneliness and isolation;
- connecting young and old people within the LGBTIQ+ community;
- the role of the government concerning all these issues.
Thursday 25 April there will be a practice oriented programme offering a lot of activities and good practices all around Amsterdam in which you can participate. You can visit and participate in one or more events of your choice.
Friday 26 April the Conference Focus on LGBTIQ+ Seniors is held. In addition to 3 plenary sessions hosted by prominent researchers from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, there will be 8 interactive workshops, 14 inspirational sessions, 3 presentations, an information market and some surprising interludes.
All European organisations, projects, professionals and volunteers - nationally, regionally and locally operating - who work with and for LGBTIQ+ senior citizens are invited to participate. About 150 participants are expected to visit the Conference. The official language is English. Participation is free.

13:00 – 14:30 Guided tour through the Roze Hallen: living-apart-together for LHBTIQ+ seniors.

14:00 – 17:00 COC Café for LGBTIQ+ Seniors: to meet and chat with other LGBTIQ+ Seniors.

15:00 – 17:00 LGBTI History Tour in Amsterdam by local guide Henk from Special Amsterdam Tours.

15:30 – 17:00 From intention to inclusion: a boat trip organised by Cordaan, a colourful long-term care organization favouring diversity.

17:00 – 20:00 Photo exhibition Never in the Closet Again! Life stories of LGBTIQ+ seniors imagined, organised by IHLIA LGBT Heritage (also on Friday).

18:00 – 21:30 Burger Meal Xtra International with the movie Man in an orange shirt.

20:00 – 22:30 Linedance Evening, including an introduction and a lesson, organized by Gay Line Dance Club Amsterdam Amigos.
Entrance fee: €2,50 per person (payable in cash). No registration necessary. Location: Cruise Inn, Zuiderzeeweg 29, Amsterdam.
20.00 – 22:30 Pink Cast, a dance performance about and by LGBTI seniors of Introdans and SWOA (Arnhem), organised by Mokum Roze and SOOZ Amsterdam.
Free admission, registration is not necessary. Doors open from 19:30 hrs. Location: OBA Theaterzaal, Oosterdokskade 143, Amsterdam.

19:00-22:00 Queens at The Palace, a 3 course dinner show in the Palace of Nostalgia
Victoria False (who will also perform at the Conference) and Ashley Knight will amuse you with a pleasant show full of songs and fun. Of course singing and music are live with Robert Kloppenburg at the piano.

Friday 26 April: Programme in brief
The conference will be opened by the Mayor or a City Council Member of the City of Amsterdam, whereas Vivian Boelen (known from Dutch television and Chair Council of ANBO) will guide you through the day.
The programme offers 3 plenary presentations by renowned researchers from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. To your choice you can attend interactive workshops about good practices on inclusive services for LGBTIQ+ seniors, (prevention of) loneliness and isolation, connecting young and old people within the LGBTIQ+ community and the role of the government concerning these issues.
Additional to 3 presentations of researches on LGBTIQ+ seniors and short movies and documentary’s about LGBTIQ+ seniors, there are inspirational table-sessions which you can participate. During the day you can visit the LGBTIQ information market and a photo exhibition about LGBTQ+ Seniors.
At the registration desk in the morning of 26 April you can choose two sub sessions you want to attend later this day.
